We maybe living in one universe, but we see things differently. What if some persons were bold enough to tell us their stories? We celebrate both the known and unknown, wack and unwack. Yes, we all can co-exist.

Wednesday 12th March, 2014.

UNN.

Lecture venues were locked down. Students were seen walking around, leisurely. Posters of aspirants pasted on walls in all approved nooks and crannies of the quiet citadel of learning. Last minute campaigns were rounded off.

It was election mood. The first Student Union Government (S. U. G) election since almost a decade.

Members of the executive portfolio were being elected. The hallmark of the election was the presidential election, as expected.

The aspirants, Orunwa Onyeanwula, popularly known as Democracy, and Agu Christian, a.k.a Lion Chris, from the departments of Psychology/Pol. Science ( faculty of Social sciences) and Education/Economics (faculty of Education) respectively. Both in third year.

It was indirectly a battle between the two biggest faculties in UNN.

Around 3pm, the election kicked off properly, in the different faculties, after accreditations had been done earlier.

Democracy got his biggest support from the faculties of Arts, Social/Sciences, while Agu triumphed in the faculties of Education, Veternary Medicine.

Without the votes of Biological Sciences, Democracy was at the top of the game.

However, the students from the faculty of the study of organisms proved that they're tough nuts to crack when it come to Student politics in UNN.

Their votes changed the course of election. Both candidates received fair amount of votes from the faculty, considering the 117 votes for Democracy and 137 votes for Agu Christian.

But a winner must emerge no matter how little the margin. That is the rule of Simple Ballot System which the electoral body used.

At the end, Agu Christian tipped the scale with just 9 votes. A very narrow scale. Thereby becoming the winner of the Presidential election.

Arts produced D. O. S. (unopposed), Veternary Medicine, Director of Transport (unopposed), Financial Secretary, Biological Sciences. Other faculties shuttled between the remaining posts.

Congrats to the winners.
