Return of SUG in UNN: kicked off with an an election debate

10th March, 2014. PALG auditorium. Years after its ban, SUG UNN began its journey of resurrection with an election debate. The debate kicked off by 4pm. In attendance were Okoye Darlington, popularly known as Anunkanka mpi, from the department of Political Science, Pastor Peter of Grace Campus Fellowship, Pastor Eze, Dr. Uchenabo of UNN youth friendly centre. The debate was held under the auspices of the Nigerian students’ leadership forum (NSLF), dedicated to nurturing leaders. Aspirants for the posts of Assistant Sec. gen, Financial Secretary, Secretary, and Presidents towed on each other’s toes with words. Other posts not included had candidates unopposed. The Presidential candidates were Orunwa, Onyeanwula Pius (A.k.a Democracy) and Agu Christian (A.k.a Lion Chris), from the departments of Education Economics and Psychology/Pol. Science respectively. The presidential debate was the high point of the event, as students went wild with cheers at the candidates’ transformational points. With that the debate came to end.
